Mithun Manhas elected as new BCCI President, RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha join men’s selection committee

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 28, 2025: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) concluded its 94th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, announcing several key appointments and decisions for the upcoming term.

Former Delhi domestic stalwart Mithun Manhas has been elected as the new President of BCCI. A Raghuram Bhat has been appointed as Treasurer, while Devajit Saikia will continue as Secretary. Prabhtej Bhjatia will take charge as the Joint Secretary of the board.

In a significant move, former India bowlers RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha have been inducted into the BCCI Men’s Selection Committee, joining Chairman Ajit Agarkar, Shiv Sundar Das, and Ajay Ratra. Singh and Ojha replace S. Sharath and Subroto Banerjee in the panel.

The AGM also confirmed Jaydev Shah, former Saurashtra captain, as a member of the BCCI Apex Council, replacing Mizoram’s Khairul Jamal Majumdar, who joins the two-member IPL Governing Council alongside Chairperson Arun Dhumal.

Additionally, the audited accounts for FY 2024–25 and the annual budget for FY 2025–26 were adopted by the General Body during the meeting.

The BCCI also announced a revamped Women’s Selection Committee, comprising Chairperson Amita Sharma, Jaya Sharma, Sulakshana Malik, Sravanthi Naidu, and Shyama Dey.

The Junior Cricket Committee will now be headed by S. Sharath as Chairperson, with Harvinder Sodhi, Pathik Patel, Krishna Mohan, and Ranadeb Bose as members.

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) Committee will be led by Jayesh George and will include Mithun Manhas, Rajeev Shukla, Devajit Saikia, Prabhtej Bhjatia, Raghuram Bhat, Madhumati Lele, Sanjay Tandon, RI Palani, and Arun Dhumal.

Furthermore, the Infrastructure Committee will be chaired by Rohan Jaitley, President of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), and will include Mithun Manhas, Rajeev Shukla, Devajit Saikia, Prabhtej Bhjatia, Raghuram Bhat, Anirudh Chaudhary, and Sana Sathish Babu.

The sweeping changes and new appointments signal a renewed focus on strengthening cricket governance, improving infrastructure, and fostering talent development across all levels of Indian cricket.
