Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 12, 2025: Roaring into Season 2 with fire in their veins and holding a commanding 2nd place in the league standings, Sher-e-Ludhiana is once again led by the indomitable Tawheed Shaikh, whose iron grip and spirit have been the heartbeat of the team. Leading the Ludhiana pride at just 25 years of age, this Aurangabad bred phenom returns as Captain in season 2.
With every thunderous move on the table, Tawheed isn’t just defending his team’s position, he’s setting the tone for a title charge.
From the dusty streets of Aurangabad to national spotlight, Tawheed Shaikh is a champion in the truest form. In Season 1, he didn’t just compete, he dominated, finishing undefeated and earning the respect of fans, peers, and legends alike. Known for his powerful hand and relentless drive, he has quickly become a name to watch in the arm wrestling community.
Born into modest beginnings, Tawheed’s journey was anything but easy. As a child, while others played, he worked as a local mechanic during the day and cleaned gym equipment all week for just ₹20. Amidst the smell of sweat and iron, Tawheed saw purpose. His journey began in an unexpected yet fateful encounter at this very gym with renowned arm wrestler, Mr Majeet Siddiqui, who is affectionately known as Majju Lala by his fans and loved ones.
Back in 2014, Majju Lala had walked into the gym, fresh off a championship victory and an awestruck Tawheed couldn’t take his eyes off the champion. Majju Lala looks back, “When I first saw that spark in Tawheed’s eyes, I thought I was just sharing a few fun tricks with a curious child. But that moment grew into something much bigger with hard work and trust.
What started casually turned into a true mentorship and watching him become the player he is today has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.” Tawheed has been training under Majju Lala as his coach ever since. From the first time Tawheed gripped his mentor’s hand in a friendly gym match, Majju Lala never let his hand go.
Tawheed Shaikh first made waves in 2016, as a 15-year-old from Aurangabad stepping onto the state-level arm wrestling stage with nerves of steel. Representing his hometown with pride, he clinched his first state-level win that year. He went on to become the National champion, All Indian Open champion and gain several other accolades in his name.
Win after win, year after year, he carved out a name so formidable that today, competitors pull every string just to secure a super match with him. The boy who once mopped gym floors in Aurangabad is now a legend in the same city, owning his own gym, Sai Fitness Point Gym and inspiring the hustle. What sets him apart isn’t just raw strength, it’s his unwavering attitude. Whether he was paying to play or finally getting paid to compete, his hunger never changed. In a sport as expensive and grueling as arm wrestling, his passion continues to drive him through every barrier.
Last season, an injury threatened to pause his momentum but like a wounded tiger, he returned fiercer than ever. Now, in Season 2, he’s back devouring every match and opponent. Sher-E-Ludhiana’s Head Coach, Yerkin Alimzhanov mentions, “Tawheed’s a powerhouse, no doubt.
Even off-season, I love working with him. We’ve built a solid bond over the years, and I trust him completely. Captaining a team of 30+ players isn’t an easy task but he leads by example, every single day.” With the coach’s strategic backing he’s become even more lethal. Today, he stands not just as a player, but as a symbol of resilience, dominance, and the winning spirit that Sher-E-Ludhiana strives to emulate.
